鲁道夫·肯佩（Rudolf Kempe，1910年6月14日-1976年5月12日）德国指挥家。肯佩深受德奥传统指挥风格的影响，他的指挥风格是严谨、端庄、朴实和简洁。他指挥演奏出的音乐音响丰富、色彩鲜明，能够体现出极其高雅的意境和与众不同的品位。但是，肯佩并不仅仅是一个继承传统的指挥家，他是一个发展和开拓能力很强的艺术家，在遵照传统而完好地保持了作品的整体结构和严谨的布局之后，肯佩将浪漫主义的情感因素大量地汇集在其中，使音乐作品显得更加生动、鲜明和感人。
肯佩的这种特长，使得他不仅善于指挥理性较强的德奥风格的作品，而且对于情感和风趣偏重的斯拉夫民族的作曲家作品，也有着十分精致和出色的演绎，例如他对于俄国作曲家柴科夫斯基的交响曲，就有着非常独到的处理和成功的演绎，而柴科夫斯基的作品一般对于德奥指挥家来说是并不擅长的。另外，肯佩对于斯美塔那和德沃夏克等人的作品，也是一个演绎得极为成功的专家，其中最能说明问题的作品，当属斯美塔那的著名歌剧《被出卖的新嫁娘》和德沃夏克的《第九交响曲》。
肯佩是一位管乐演奏家出身的指挥大师，在这方面，恐怕只有后来的科林·戴维斯与他相似。肯佩早年是一位著名的双簧管演奏家，曾经在许多著名的乐团中担任双簧管首席，自当上了指挥家以后，肯佩不得不中断了自己的演奏生涯，但他的这一得天独厚的特长，却为他的指挥技艺的发展提供了很大的帮助，由于他精通管乐器的演奏方法与特长，又有丰富的乐团管乐演奏经验，所以他在指挥乐团时能够非常出色地调配管乐器，演奏出旋律的线条及和声效果，他所处理出的管乐乐句，呼吸极其合理匀称，音色异常的干净、透明、统一和富有特色。此外，肯佩的这一特点对指挥声乐作品也有着很大的帮助，因为声乐与管乐一样，也是一门十分强调呼吸、控制和变换音色的艺术。
肯佩是乐坛少数以管乐演奏家出身而获得成功的指挥家，是二战后最伟大的德国指挥家之一。他的地位由于他在歌剧院和音乐厅中的演出以及大量的录音，在生前便得以确立。但与同时代的卡拉扬相比，肯佩却更享受低调的生活，而且在他的人生晚期，肯佩显然更乐于和那些通常不被认为是最顶尖的乐团铸造一种稳定的合作关系。
